What have you learned in MIS?

-I've learned a lot in this subject like, why information system is very important in business also what strategies should use or apply if there is a problem and how to improve it. It help us to think and apply what we learned. Maybe someday one of us will become a manager on a particular company or if we put up a business someday. Most especially on how to enhance our skills in using computer.

1.) Explain why strategies or strategic more are important in a business.
->Strategic planning is viewed as a process for determining where an organization is over the next year or more typically 3 to 5 years. although some extent their version to 20 years.

2.) Illustrate how information system can give business a competitive advantage.

->Information system provides internal control in business and other organization. At the start of business and other organization, inter-reporting was made manually and only periodically as by product of accounting system and with some additional statistics and give limited and delayed information on performance management.

3.)Identify the basic initiates for gaining a competitive advantage.
->Various Business Analysis Techniques can be used in strategic planning, including SWOT Analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats) and PEST Analysis (Political, Economic, Social and Technological) or STEER Analysis (Sociocultural, Technological, Economic, Ecological and Regulatory Factors) and EPISTEL (Environment, Political, Information, Social,Technology, Economic, and Legal).

1. Define Close System vs Open System.

Closed System - is a system in which the important data / information are kept secret to prevent interference from third parties.

Open System - are computer systems that provide some combination of interoperability, portability and open software standards.

Information system refers to the interaction between people, processes, and technology.

5. What is Information Map?

-is a research-based approach for creating structured documents and communications that are clear, concise and user-focused.

6. What is Information Technology?

-the study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems, particularly software applications and computer hardware.

1. Why Information System are essential to business?

Information System are essential to business because Information systems are the foundation for conducting business today. In many
industries, survival and even existence without extensive use of IT is
inconceivable, and IT plays a critical role in increasing productivity. Although
information technology has become more of a commodity, when coupled with
complementary changes in organization and management, it can provide the
foundation for new products, services, and ways of conducting business that
provide firms with a strategic advantage.

2. What is a system?

-an ordered and comprehensive assemblage of facts, principles, doctrines, or the like in a particular field of knowledge or thought.

-a coordinated body of methods or a scheme or plan of procedure; organizational scheme: a system of government.

-any formulated, regular, or special method or plan of procedure.

-a working combination of hardware, software, and data communications devices.
